Leroy UMC Preschool – Education, Learning Styles, & Daily Schedules

Question: How much time are the children sitting at desks versus moving and learning through activities?

Answer: We respect the attention span and activity level of preschoolers and balance the amount of sitting still with the need to move and explore.

Question: Please give us an example of a daily class schedule and/or link to a resource on your website that details this.

Answer: We have a variety of activities and learning times set up throughout the day.

Question: Do the teachers have degrees/licenses/certifications in Early Childhood Education?

Answer: Both teachers have Bachelor degrees in Early childhood education/child development.

Leroy UMC – Safety, Discipline, & Health

Question: How do you monitor/control who is coming into the building while students are there?

Answer: Our doors are always locked.  Admission is only permitted by staff.

Question: What is your school’s approach to discipline should it be needed?

Answer: Our objective is to keep the children engaged enough to avoid a need for discipline. However time outs or self control activities are administered as needed and acceptable for a preschool child.

Question: What happens if there is a COVID-19 outbreak?

Answer:

Leroy UMC preschool closes whenever the local school district (Cloverleaf) is closed. (We will not be open for the 2020/2021 school year due to Covid).
If there is an outbreak of any communicable disease, Leroy UMC preschool would follow the guidelines of the Medina county health department and the ODJFS.

Question: Are students required to wear masks?

Answer: Leroy UMC preschool will follow the decision made by the local school district,  the Medina county health department,  and ODJFS as to mask protocols.
